Sebastiano Bagnara is currently chair of Cognitive Psychology at the Polytechnic of Milan. Previously, he was Head of the Department of Communication Sciences at the University of Sienna, Director of The Institute of Psychology of the National Research Council, President of the European Association of Cognitive Ergonomics and of the Italian Society of Ergonomics, and Secretary General of International Ergonomics Association.
He is member of several scientific and professional societies and of the editorial board of several international scientific journals. He is Associate Editor of Theoretical Issues in Ergonomic Sciences. He published ten books and about two hundred papers.
